Basic functionality

Does Frotcom work in places where there are no GSM operators (e.g. CDMA)?

No, a GSM network is necessary to send data from the vehicle to the Frotcom Data Centre. Please check the list of countries in which Frotcom works, under Resources > Coverage.

What are the requirements for my computer?

Basically any computer connected to the Internet, with at least 1GB RAM memory and 1GB free disk. The link to the Internet should not be less than 2Mbps, otherwise viewing the maps may become too slow.

Do I have to install software?

No.

What is the mimimum Internet bandwidth to use Frotcom?

Minimum 2Mbps is recommended.

Does the system work 24 hours a day?

Yes, the system works 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Does the driver need to interact with the Frotcom device for it to work?

No, the device works independently from the driver. Only in the case of accessories such as the Navigator or Automatic Driver Identification will there be a need for interaction.

What happens if there is no GSM/GPRS coverage where the vehicle is?

The onboard equipment will store the data will send it as soon as the GSM/GPRS coverage is restored. The device is equipped with a large memory, capable of holding data for months, should that ever be necessary.

How often is Frotcom upgraded?

Frotcom is constantly being upgraded. Normally we have at least 2 upgrades per month. All users have access to the new features as soon as they become available. There are no upgrade fees/costs.

For which regions does Frotcom provide maps?

Frotcom uses Google Maps and Bing Maps, with very good detail in most world regions.

Can I use Frotcom in more than one computer at the same time (different users)?

Yes, Frotcom can be used in multiple computers at the same time.

How many usernames/passwords can my company have simultaneously?

Usually 5. Please contact us if these are not enough.

Can I access Frotcom from any place?

Yes, you only need a computer or smartphone and Internet connection. No need to install software.

Do I have to pay extra if I want to run more reports and/or alarms?

No.

Can I have all my reports on a daily basis when necessary?

Yes, there is no limit to the number of reports that can be generated.

Do I have access to the history of the vehicles' trips?

Yes, the complete history of the vehicles' trips is stored by Frotcom for two months. After the two months are up, the main events are still kept in the system and are accessible to you. The automatic reports also obviously give you a detailed overview of the history of your vehicles' trips. You can keep these reports for as long as you want.
