Generic PVT

One platform. Every vehicle. Any telematics system.

Already collecting position data? Then you’re already halfway there. Generic PVT Inbound connects any telematics system to Frotcom, no new devices, no installations, no disruption to what you already use. Your Frotcom Certified Partner sets up the connection. You share your vehicle list. From that moment on, your team manages trips, reports, and alerts through a single familiar interface; the same day you go live.

Benefits

Connect any telematics system

Works with any existing GPS or telematics provider: no proprietary hardware, no vendor lock-in, no replacement of current tools.

Same-day go-live

Once your partner activates the connection, vehicles appear on the Frotcom map immediately: full trip history, graphs, and reports from day one.

Full Frotcom feature set

Injected vehicles behave exactly like native hardware: the same map, the same reports, the same alerts. No second-class status for external data sources.

Multi-vehicle batching

One message can carry positions for multiple vehicles at once. Frotcom processes them in order and responds with a per-vehicle acceptance status.

No authentication overhead

No tokens, no OAuth flows. A simple connection ID links your messages to the right Frotcom account: lightweight by design, easy to maintain.

What makes it unique

An open injection layer, not another telematics standard

Most fleet integrations are manufacturer-specific: they work only if your vehicles are from a particular brand with a particular hardware unit. Generic PVT Inbound is different by design. It defines a minimal, universal message format that any system capable of sending an HTTPS request can adopt, regardless of brand, device type, or software stack.

The payload is intentionally lean: a timestamp, a position, a speed, a direction, an ignition state, and a vehicle ID. That’s all Frotcom needs to reconstruct full trip history, generate graphs, and trigger alerts, exactly as it would with native hardware. There’s no proprietary SDK to install, no certification process to complete, and no dependency on a third-party cloud.

This makes Generic PVT Inbound the integration of last resort in the best sense, the one that works when nothing else fits, and the one that keeps your fleet visible in Frotcom, no matter what telematics hardware you run today or switch to tomorrow.
