BG Toll

Overview

Bulgarian toll compliance.
Handled automatically by Frotcom.

Since March 2020, all heavy vehicles over 3.5 tons operating in Bulgaria must pay electronic distance-based tolls across 3,115 km of roads. Frotcom’s integration with BG Toll automates the entire declaration process, using the GPS data your vehicles already produce, so your fleet stays fully compliant without any manual steps, driver stops, or additional hardware.

Benefits

Fully automatic declaration

Toll segments are detected and declared automatically from GPS data. No manual input, no paperwork, no driver action needed at any point.

Always compliant

Frotcom acts as a certified Provider of Declared Data (PDD), submitting accurate toll declarations to RIA through official channels, keeping you fine-free.

No extra hardware

Your existing Frotcom GPS tracker does the job. No OBU device to purchase, no workshop visits, no additional installations required.

Live within one business day

Once RIA updates the authorized vehicle list, your fleet is ready to operate on toll roads. No waiting, no workshops, no delays to your routes.

The most cost-effective option

No OBU to buy, no separate telematics contract. Your existing Frotcom device is used for toll declaration and all its other fleet management functions.

What makes this integration unique

Your GPS device becomes a certified toll declaration instrument

Most toll compliance solutions require a separate OBU device fitted to each vehicle, adding extra cost,  installation, and system management. Frotcom’s BG Toll integration eliminates all of that. Because Frotcom is a certified Provider of Declared Data (PDD), your existing GPS tracker is officially recognized by the Bulgarian Road Infrastructure Agency as a valid source for toll declaration.

The GPS device captures position, kilometers driven, axle count, Euro category, and other vehicle details every 10 seconds. This data flows from Frotcom to DAK-22, the Toll Declaration Provider, to the National Service Provider, and finally to RIA. Automatically, continuously, and without any interaction from the driver or fleet manager.

Vehicle data is entered once into the Frotcom system (license plate, axles, total weight, emission class, country of registration), and declarations are generated thereafter without re-entry. Any corrections can be made in real time, and RIA returns the toll amount due directly to the vehicle user.
