In this year’s 1st edition of "Did you know", we will share with you about a not new, but currently relevant topic, namely "Tachographs". This time we will tell you about several Frotcom functionalities that would help you and make your daily life easier. Let's start with:
1. Module "Remote tachograph download"
Remote tachograph download is possible and legal. According to a European regulation, carriers have the obligation to download the data from the hard memory of the tachographs of the trucks (every 90 days) and from the driver's card (up to 28 days).
With the Remote tachograph download function, you can now save a lot of time, effort and hiring someone to visit each vehicle individually and download the tachograph data. Thanks to Frotcom's "Remote Tachograph Download" service, you can do all this remotely without having to leave the office. And to be as useful as possible, Frotcom saves the files in its data center.
To take advantage of the module, several conditions are necessary:
- The GPS device installed in the vehicle must be connected to the tachograph.
- You have activated the " Remote tachograph download" service to Frotcom.
- To download an application with which to download the data remotely.
- To have a card reader connected to a computer in which your company tachograph is placed in the card reader.
- Set periods for downloading the data from the tachograph's hard memory and from the driver's card.
2. Identification of the driver through his tachograph card
Using the same technology as when downloading data from a tachograph, you can also identify the drivers driving your vehicles.
How is this possible?
Each driver has his own digital tachograph card, which he needs to insert into the tachograph when driving. By inserting the card, Frotcom identifies it and sends the information to the system. So, you know at any moment which driver is driving a given vehicle.
3. Frotcom Road Show’s video
During the Frotcom Road Show, which took place on 25.10.2024 in Sofia, experts from MOVE Expert Vencislav Trendafilov and Augustina Vlahova shared their experience and what companies should expect with the amendments to the "Mobility" package. And although the deadline for replacing the old non-intelligent (analog and digital) tachographs was extended from 31.12.2024 to 28.02.2025, the requirements and consequences for companies remain the same even after this date.
