Vehicle maintenance

Stay ahead of the service requirements and errors reported by your vehicles.

Imagine one of your trucks is en route to a customer when a dashboard warning light flashes. The driver may not know what's wrong, and by the time it's reported, the truck breaks down, causing delays and costly repairs.

With Frotcom, if an issue arises, you'll be alerted immediately, allowing you to schedule repairs before it escalates.

With Frotcom's Vehicle Maintenance module, you can remotely monitor real-time diagnostics, including service needs and Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs).

Frotcom provides GPS trackers adequate for any type of vehicle, that can read maintenance data from FMS, J1939, or OBD ports.

Frotcom monitors service requirements such as general maintenance, engine oil, or brake pads and oil, allowing for advance planning. Service requirements can automatically trigger alarms and send notifications via Frotcom and/or email, based on a set time or travel distance.

The alarms are updated when the service is executed, and the vehicle reports a new distance of time for the next service without any intervention from the fleet manager.

Frotcom also displays the DTCs reported by each vehicle, either the ones active and or the history of DTCs reported in the past. It is also possible to set up an alarm to notify the fleet manager when a DTC is reported by the vehicle.

Keep vehicles on the road, ensure timely deliveries, and reduce costly downtime!

This module is based on the information read by the GPS tracker from the vehicle.

For heavy vehicles and machines specialized for agriculture, construction, or mining, data is usually obtained from the J1939 or FMS CAN bus. On light vehicles, data can be read from the OBD port or internal CANBus.

The GPS tracker reads this information and transmits it to the Frotcom Data Centre, where it is processed and stored.

When service appointment alarms are linked to Frotcom's vehicle maintenance module, the system automatically sets the vehicle's next service appointment, saving you time and ensuring you do not miss your vehicle's service

Benefits

Remote maintenance information

All maintenance requirements and DTCs are collected remotely and presented on a centralized page. There is no dependency on the drivers, no need to check the vehicles locally, and no need to use multiple platforms from the vehicle brands.

Plan ahead for maintenance

If an issue arises, you'll be alerted immediately, allowing you to schedule repairs before it escalates. There will be no more surprises with vehicles that cannot be used for the assigned jobs because of overdue maintenance.

Avoid expensive repairs

Real-time monitoring of DTCs, allowing for preventive maintenance before unattended warnings result in avoidable wear and unplanned vehicle stops.

Keep your drivers informed

Both maintenance requirements and DTCs can trigger alarms, and these alarms can be sent to the driver of the vehicle. Drivers can act accordingly, planning maintenance or going directly to the company's vehicle maintenance shop.
