The dashcam detects risky driving behavior — like cell phone use or smoking — and records video footage when events are triggered. The GPS unit correlates these events with driving data, and the recorded videos are securely uploaded to cloud servers. Fleet managers can access and review the footage in Frotcom’s platform to monitor driver performance, respond to incidents, and improve fleet safety.
Frotcom’s Video Telematics system collects and processes video data as follows:
1. Event Detection & Recording
a) The dashcam detects risky events (e.g., distracted driving, cell phone use, or smoking while driving).
b) Frotcom’s tracking unit detects its own Driving Behavior events and requests the corresponding footage from the camera.
2. Video & Data Transmission
The recorded video is streamed by Frotcom’s platform, on demand.
